Auditors

Under the Pennsylvania Second-Class Township Code, the code calls for the election of a three-member Board of Auditors. The term for the elected auditor is six years. Due to the number of members and length of the term, not every member’s term expires the same year. Under the Township Code, the elected auditor meets the first Tuesday of each year to reorganize and set the salary of any Township Supervisor that is employed by the Township. Furthermore, as allowed under the Second-Class Township Code, Perkiomen Township contracts with an Independent CPA Firm to complete a financial audit of all the Township accounts using generally accepted auditing standards.
