Municipal Authority
The Municipal Authority is a volunteer group of five-member Board that was created under the Pennsylvania Municipal Authority’s Act. Currently the Municipal Authority is an operating authority. This means that the only role for the Board of Supervisors is to appoint the members. Each member is appointed for a five-year term. Due to the number of members and length of the term, not every member’s term expires the same year. The role of the Municipal Authority is to oversee the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system in the Township. The Municipal Authority sets the public sewer rates for those properties connected to the public sewer system.
The current Meeting schedule of the Municipal Authority is quarterly meetings. These meetings are February, May, September, and December. The meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the Perkiomen Township Administration Building, 1 Trappe Road, Collegeville, PA.
